What’s New with the 2017 Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival

This year our theme for the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival is…Blue Ribbon Harvest…WV Grown. When was the last time you stopped and appreciated what WV has to offer in your own backyard? This year, we have invited the best the area has “produced” to participate in our festival. It is hard to go through this weekend without feeling a sense of pride in our Eastern Panhandle heritage. From our talented Grand Marshall, Christian Lopez to our extremely talented artisans featured at the Arts & Crafts fair, take pride in where you live! We love our festival! It is a celebration of our apple agricultural heritage. We work 12 months a year to bring you a weekend of events that is worthy of your time. We strive to improve every year. This year we have made several changes that we hope you like…you asked, and we listened:

  • Queen Pomona’s coronation is free Friday evening at a new location: Martinsburg High School
  • Events moved to the Berkeley County Youth Fair Grounds….more parking, more space, food, crafts, entertainment all in one location!
  • Apple Trample renamed in memory of Robert F. “Bob” Baronner, Jr.
  • A Brand new event: Live and in Concert: Christian Lopez and his band will perform Saturday night at the Berkeley County Youth Fair….admission is only $10.00 per person at the gate! Come see our own rising star!
  • Barn Dance: Saturday evening before the Lopez concert come listen to a variety of music and try a country line dance with our Queen Pomona and her court.
  • Do you like Quilts? Come admire the craftsmanship at the Arts & Crafts Festival of the Piece Makers Quilt Guild!
  • Eat Breakfast at the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, then shop the artisans and watch demonstrations…all at the same location! No worries about driving from one place to the next.
  • Food vendors galore….buy a pie, buy an apple dumpling, buy a gourmet dipped apple, and who doesn’t want an apple!
