Fifth Annual Eastern WV Exhibit Accepted Artists Announced
The Berkeley Arts Council announced the accepted artists for the Fifth Annual Eastern West Virginia Juried Art Exhibit, to be displayed at the Berkeley Art Works from October 4 - November 11, 2017. There will be a reception and awards presentation on October 6 from 5-7pm.
Juror Geraldine Kiefer, Professor of Art History and Art at Shenandoah University, selected 31 works from 21 artists representing the Eastern Panhandle Region. Ms Kiefer wrote: “It was a pleasure to be the juror of two-dimensional work with sensitivity and response to nature and geometrical form, and of three-dimensional work with verve, wit and a strong sense of craft. This was a worthy cross-section of artistic excellence in the Eastern Panhandle.”
A full list of the accepted artists is on the web at http://www.berkeleyartswv.org/ewv-juried-exhibit/.
The Berkeley Art Works is located at 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg. Gallery hours are Wed-Fri 11-5, Sat 11-4.
The Berkeley Art Works, a project of the Berkeley Arts Council, is the realization of the long-held dream of the arts community in Martinsburg and Berkeley County West Virginia: to have a community-based arts facility that supports local and regional artists, brings quality arts experiences for the members of the public, and provides a wide range of arts learning experiences for local residents, artists, and artisans.
