Discovery Station Museum Announces New Logo And Rebranding
Hagerstown, MD—The Discovery Station announced the launch of a new Discovery Station logo as part of the ongoing evolution of the museum’s mission to provide learning experiences to thousands of children and families each year.
The non-profit museum has grown it’s visitor count and it’s exhibit offerings since it first opened. Since 2005, there have been more than 114,700 visitors to the museum, a significant portion of those visitors were children and families.
On their 10th Anniversary, the board and staff re-examined the museum’s mission statement in order to identify new and creative ways of providing an environment that stimulates curiosity for discovery, exploration, and further investigation for children of all ages.
The museum also consulted with their visitors, and determined that exhibits and programs that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) principles were critical to the museum’s growth of visitation.
“The five triangles in the new logo represent the five facets of STEAM learning. Additional rebranding efforts will include exhibits, projects, and programs that revolve around these principles,” said Pat Kelly, Interim Executive Director for the museum.
