Berkeley Arts Council Adds a Partner for Kids’ Art Classes

Building partnerships in the community has been a founding principle behind the formation of the Berkeley Arts Council (or BAC) since 2009. A new partner on the list is Joe Santoro of Wonderment Puppet Theater who brings his art instructor portfolio to the Berkeley Art Works classroom, offering Paperfolding and Storytelling, featuring creativity as well as art techniques. “We’re delighted to have this opportunity to add a kids’ class, something people have often asked for,” reports Malinda Shaver, president of the group’s board of directors.

Classes are Saturday morning from 10:30 to 12:00, on January 20, 27, and February 3 and 10. Youngsters will learn how to work with paper to make various constructions. After decorating with line and color, the projects become part of stories that the students share with classes and families.
Parents can register students online at berkeleyartswv.org/instruction/ or in person at the Berkeley Art Works, 116 North Queen Street, Martinsburg. Store hours are Wed-Thurs-Fri 11 – 5 and Sat 11-4.
