First Friday Coffeehouse Features Massachusetts Songwriter Dennis Caraher
First Friday Coffeehouse will feature Dennis Caraher, whose songs span a wide range of lyrical themes…from poignant to zany. The event will be held October 6 at Trinity Orchard House on Route 45 mid-way between Shepherdstown and Martinsburg, West Virginia. Doors open for social time and open mic sign-up at 7 pm. All open mic participants should be there early to get a slot to perform at one of the area`s premier listening rooms. The open mic hour starts at 7:30 and is followed by the feature acts.
Caraher grew up on a farm in Iowa and many of his songs are informed by the isolation, beauty and downright weirdness of a disappearing landscape. His lyrics often forge unique territories: Kindergartner in Love… Eisenhower on the Beach…I’m a Lot Like Lincoln. He has been heard on NPR and Garrison Keillor’s “The Writers’ Almanac”. In addition to three Americana themed records, Caraher has penned and recorded CDs for kids and families that have garnered the Parents’ Choice Gold Medals.
He currently lives in Northampton, MA and claims to be very proud of his oatmeal-making abilities. For more, visit http://www.denniscaraher.com
